Dallas mayor: Cowboys signing Hardy is a 'shot in the gut'

Mike Rawlings is the mayor of Dallas and is a Cowboys fan.

However, he's not a fan of the team's latest move: signing Greg Hardy, the former Carolina Panthers defensive end who was accused of beating his girlfriend in 2014. Rawlings, a man who is a staunch proponent of domestic violence prevention, isn't happy.

"At some point, being a sports fan gets trumped by being a father, a husband, wanting to do what's right for women," Rawlings said in an interview with dallasnews.com. "So this is not a good thing, by me."
